Meet Susan Ackerman

I have been in the real estate business for over 23 years listing and selling properties in Cumberland, Franklin, Fulton and Adams counties. I served on the Board of Directors for PenMar Regional Association of Realtors for three, two year terms, and currently serve on the State and Local Professional Standards committees and our Local Awards committee. The towns of Shippensburg, Chambersburg, Newburg, Newville, Greencastle, Mercersburg, Waynesboro, Fayetteville, McConnellsburg, Saint Thomas, Fort Loudon, Lurgan, Roxbury, Orrstown, Carlisle, Gettysburg, and Hagerstown are included in the area in which I work.
I believe in continuing education in order to provide the best possible service to my buyers and sellers. I specialize in Buyer Representation as well as Seller Representation, and hold the CRS, GRI and ABR degrees as well as being an Associate Broker. My family and I were transferred to Shippensburg, PA in 1974 with my husband's company and finding a new home was a trying experience, so I understand the needs of buyers and sellers.
I am an active member of the PenMar Regional Association of Realtors®, the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors®, the National Association of Realtors®, the Metropolitan Regional Information Service (our multi-list), and CREA. I serve on the State and Local Professional Standards committees and the Local Awards committee.
I firmly believe in the Realtor® Code of Ethics and that is why I proudly serve on the Professional Standards Committee, which is the Realtor® Association's "watchdog" overseeing complaints and arbitrations.

A Little About Me
|
|
|
I have lived in the Shippensburg/Chambersburg area for 35 years and my husband and I raised 4 childred in the Shippenbsurg school district. We are now the proud grandparents of 10 and enjoy spending all the time we can with them. In our spare time (haha) my husband Ted and I love to be in Chincoteague, VA where we have a vacation home and our pontoon fishing boat. We spend as much time there with our children and grandchildren as possible, teaching them about the area, the sea, and the wildlife, including the wild ponies of Assateague. Sometimes we even catch fish! (but we do release most of the time).
Shippensburg is the home of the annual Shippensburg Fair, and over the years I have watched many of my children's friends become Fair Queen. Sports are very important to our community and I am proud to say that between our 4 children, we were involved in swimming, football, basketball, baseball, softball, track, wrestling, and hockey, and now support our grandchildren in soccer, baseball, football, cheering and dancing (although unfortunately not all in Pennsylvania, we have 3 grandchildren in Oshkosh, WI)

*I have been a "Bluebird Landlord" for 10 years and love maintaining the boxes and watching each new family emerge.
*I decided to loose weight about 1 1/2 years ago and after trying everying out there, created my own plan and am prouyd to say I lost 65 lbs. to date. Will be writing a Blog on this in the future.
